Make and bake cake according to package directions in a 9x13 pan. Cool cake. Poke cake all over with a large utility fork. Stir Jello and boiling water in a bowl until dissolved. Then stir in cold water. Pour all over cake letting Jello drizzle into the holes. Refrigerate for 2 hours. Frost with whipped topping and enjoy. Store covered in fridge.
