Mountain Pie Recipe

In addition to the mountain pie iron and a good fire with a lot of hot embers, you'll need: - Bread (best is square slices instead of rectangular ones) - Shredded mozzarella cheese - Pizza sauce in a squeeze bottle (Yup, this is a thing!) - Pepperoni slices, or whatever other 'toppings' you'd like.

1. Prepare your campfire and keep your embers red hot. Butter up your pie iron campfire sandwich maker on the insides to stop anything from sticking while cooking.
2. Liberally butter your two slices of white bread on one side each. Spread cherry pie filling on the other side of each piece of bread.
3. Place your sandwich into the pie iron, with the butter side up and the cherry pie filling enclosed. Close your pie iron, then place it directly into the embers of the campfire.
4. Keep turning the pie iron in the embers, so the sandwich cooks evenly inside. You'll only need a few minutes for your mountain pie to bake, and you can remove it from the fire when it's lightly toasted and golden brown on the outside.

Spoon 2 tablespoons of filling directly in the center of the bread. If you add too much, it'll end up spilling out and making your pie a mess.
