1. Just before serving, in a half gallon pitcher combine the tequila, the minimum amount of Cointreau or Triple Sec and the lime juice. Taste and add more orange liqueur if you think your margaritas need more sweet oranginess to balance the other flavors. Remember, you're tasting it warm and undiluted; when chilled and diluted, the flavors will be mellower and the lime's tartness will be more attractive.
2. Pour several tablespoons of lime juice onto a small plate and several tablespoons coarse salt onto another. Have martini glasses at hand (chill them for an extra special touch).
3. As your guests ask for their margaritas, invert a glass into the plate with the lime juice to moisten rim, then lightly dip into the plate with the salt. For each drink measure 2 ounces (1/4 cup) of the margarita mixture into a cocktail shaker. If you have a 2-ounce ladle that you can keep in the pitcher, measuring goes much faster. Add ice cubes (5 cubes for 1, 8 for 2, 10 for 3). Secure the lid and top and shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds. Strain into the salt crusted glasses and hand off to the lucky recipients

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best tequila to make margaritas with?

A silver or blanco tequila is best for margaritas. This tequila is young, only aged in oak for up for two months. It has a stronger flavor that mixes well. Gold tequilas, not ideal for margaritas, have been aged longer in the oak. That gives them a woody flavor.

How do you make the Best Margarita?

Fill blender with crushed ice. Pour in limeade concentrate, tequila and triple sec. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.

How many Margaritas can you make with one bottle of tequila?

Answer: One Bottle of Traditional Margarita Mix concentrate would need 3 liters of Tequila (this is one and a half bottles of the 1.75L handle jug) and one liter of triple sec. All other flavor mix concentrates, we suggest 2 Liters (Tequila, Rum, or Vodka). One 1.75L bottle works just fine.

How do you make a margarita recipe?

Directions. Add tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, and ice together in a cocktail shaker. Shake and then strain into the glass over ice. For a slighter sweeter version, add agave syrup before shaking. And of course, if you prefer them frozen (though that's not the traditional way to make a margarita), simply add the ingredients to a blender...
